01Who I am

This website is run by Cathy Teesdale, a photographer and collage artist trading as [trading name]. For data protection purposes I am the controller of the personal information described here.

02What I collect

I only collect what I need to reply to you and to do the work you ask for:

• When you use the contact form or email me: your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and what you tell me in your message.
• When you commission work: your postal address, the details of the job, and invoicing and payment records. Card payments are handled by [payment provider]; I never see your card details.
• Photographs: the photos I take of you or your family, and any photos you send me to use in a collage.

03How I use it

I use your information to reply to your enquiry, to plan and carry out the work, to send you your finished images and invoices, and to keep the records the law requires.

I will not send you marketing emails unless you ask to hear from me, and I never sell or rent your details to anyone.

The legal bases I rely on are: taking steps at your request before a contract, and carrying out that contract; my legitimate interest in replying to enquiries and running my business; meeting legal obligations such as tax records; and your consent where I ask for it, such as showing your photos publicly.

04Photographs of you and your family

I will only show photographs or collages that include you, your family or your home in my portfolio, on this website or on social media if you have given me written permission first. Images of children are never shared without a parent's or guardian's permission.

You can withdraw that permission at any time by emailing me. I will then remove the images from this website and my social media accounts as soon as I can, though I cannot recall printed material already published.

05Who I share it with

I use a small number of trusted services to run my business. They only process your information on my instructions:

• Website hosting: [Cloudflare Pages, to confirm]
• Website content system: [Directus host, to confirm]
• Contact form delivery: [form service, to confirm]
• Email: [email provider]
• My accountant, for tax and bookkeeping: [name or firm]

Some of these services may store information outside the UK. Where they do, they are covered by UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual safeguards.

06How long I keep it

• Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: [12 months], then deleted.
• Client and invoicing records: six years after the end of the tax year, as HMRC requires.
• Your photographs: [period] so that I can supply reprints, unless you ask me to delete them sooner.

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. [Update this section if analytics are added.]

The text on this site uses the Outfit typeface from Google Fonts. To show it, your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address. [Remove this paragraph if the fonts are hosted on this website instead.]

08Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information I hold about you, and to ask me to correct it, delete it, limit how I use it, or send it to you or someone else in a portable format. You can also object to how I use it, and withdraw any consent you have given.

To use any of these rights, email info@cathyteesdale.com. I will reply within one month and there is no charge.

09Complaints

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

All photographs, collages and text on this website are © Cathy Teesdale [year] unless another photographer is credited. Please do not copy, download or reuse them without written permission. If you would like to use an image, get in touch and I will be happy to discuss it.
